You may have missed it, but earlier today Google had a massive downtime. Quite a few services were affected including: YouTube, Gmail, search, Google Reader, image search and Google Analytics.

Of course when Google services go down, there is mass hysteria. Imagine not having access to Gmail for an hour or so…….Of course, Twitter was going crazy with complaints, so if you are interested you can do a search on there and you will find a ton of stuff.

Google didn’t give much info on the issue, a spokesperson just gave the usual expected statement “We’re aware some users are having trouble accessing some services.” But I guess we can’t expect them to come out and say everything has crashed and burned.

Google have had a few hiccups lately, with a Gmail downtime a couple months back. However, some time off from Google is not necessarily a bad thing.
