AOL is the next in line to be cutting hundreds of jobs due to the current economic conditions.

Even though AOL has had a recovery and increased traffic growth over the past few months, this is still not enough to keep them going without cutting jobs. The job cuts will affect approximately 700 workers. This number represents 10% of the AOL workforce.

AOL is still ranked as the #4 web property in the USA, and it hits about 57% of US based internet users. The AOL advertising network has a reach of 91% of the total internet audience, which is pretty impressive. They also plan to relaunch their webmail, which is something that used to dominate years ago.

So while things are not necessarily going too bad for AOL, unfortunately the job cuts will affect many families. However, AOL is planning to look after laid off staff as best as possible.
