SpaceMonger is a very useful tool for being able to visually see how your disk space is being consumed. It creates a graphical representation of your hard drive, showing the disk usage in blocks. This is a very easy way to see where disk space is being used and where it is being wasted.

If you try and reduce disk space by browsing through folders, it can take a long time and you dont necessarily know where the large files may be hidden away. With this tool, it displays the larger files with a larger square graphic. So you can quickly see what is chewing up space and where it is located.
After running the scan, I quickly found 2 very old files that were buried deep in some folders. These 2 files were consuming about 6GB of space. So in just a couple of minutes, I have freed up quite a bit of extra disk space.
This is a very nice tool. There is a 100% free version, the only problem is that it hasn’t been updated for a few years. However, it still works fine. If you want, you can always pay for one of their newer versions, but give the free one a try, it does a great job.
