Most people who still run Windows XP will know of those annoying balloon tips that you see in the notification area, well here is a quick registry hack that you can do to get rid of them;

• Open your regedit (start > run > regedit)
• Now you have to navigate here – HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
• Click on the ShowInfoTip entry
• Change the value from 1 to 0
• Done
• This will disable the balloon tips on XP for you
